Lego Monkey Palace

LEGO Monkey Palace is a jungle-themed, light strategy board game that combines competitive point-scoring with collaborative 3D construction. It is the first major collaboration between the LEGO Group and Asmodee, designed for 2 to 4 players aged 10 and up.

The story follows a monkey who accidentally collapsed a magnificent jungle palace. Players must now work together to rebuild it, using official LEGO bricks to create increasingly complex and tall staircases. While the construction is collaborative, players compete to earn the most Banana Points to win.

A typical game lasts about 45 minutes and follows these core mechanics:
Building Staircases: On your turn, you must build an ascending staircase of single blocks, columns, and arches that connects to the existing palace.
Earning Monkey Credits: You earn “Monkey Credits” based on the height and number of arches in your new section.
Drafting Monkey Cards: Credits are spent in the market to buy cards. These cards provide two main benefits: immediate or recurring “brick income” for future turns, and the “Banana Points” needed to win.
Decorating & Trophies: Players place decoration pieces (leaves, bamboo, or gold bricks) matching their starting color. Placing the highest decoration or using the Monkey piece to block spaces can earn bonus points or trophy cards like the Butterfly or Frog.
