Escape the Dark Cult of the Death Knight

Escape the Dark Castle: Cult of the Death Knight is the first expansion (Adventure Pack 1) for the cooperative fantasy adventure board game Escape the Dark Castle. It introduces a darker era to the castle, centered around a fanatical cult led by the formidable Death Knight, also known as the Lord of Decay.

The expansion maintains the base game’s focus on simple, atmospheric storytelling and cooperative play.
Cooperative Escape: 1–4 players work together to overcome a deck of randomly generated chapter cards to reach and defeat the boss. If any player dies, the game ends immediately.
New Curse Mechanic: Introduces Curses, terrible afflictions drawn from the item deck that hinder progress.
Marked for Death: A specific curse that prevents a character from resting and forces them to take extra damage from cultists.
Cultist Die: When a cursed character’s health falls below half, they must swap their standard character die for a special Cultist Die, representing their yielding to the cult’s corrupting power.

Standalone or Mixed Play: The 15 new chapter cards can be played as a standalone themed quest or shuffled into the base game for increased variety.

This pack expands the game with several new elements:
3 New Playable Characters: Includes the Bishop (wisdom specialist), Hunter (cunning specialist), and Mason (might specialist), each with their own custom character dice.
15 New Chapter Cards: Features new locations, cultist encounters, and sacrilegious rituals.
1 New Boss Card: The Death Knight himself, a legendary and imposing swordsman.
5 New Item Cards: These include the new Curse cards to thwart the prisoners’ progress.
