Description
King of Tokyo is a fast-paced, “king of the hill” style dice-rolling board game designed by Richard Garfield (the creator of Magic: The Gathering). Players take on the role of giant monsters—including mutant creatures, robots, and aliens—vying for dominance over the city of Tokyo.
The game uses a Yahtzee-style mechanic where you roll six custom dice and can re-roll any of them up to two times to achieve the best combination.
Dice Symbols:
Numbers (1, 2, 3): Rolling three of a kind earns you that many Victory Points (VPs). Each extra matching die adds 1 VP.
Energy (Lightning Bolt): Earns energy cubes used to buy power-up cards.
Heal (Heart): Restores health points (HP), but only if you are outside Tokyo.
Attack (Smash/Claw): Deals damage. If you are outside Tokyo, you damage whoever is inside. If you are inside Tokyo, you damage everyone outside.
A player wins by being the first to reach 20 Victory Points or by being the last monster standing after eliminating all others.
