Camel Up

Camel Up is an award-winning, fast-paced family board game where 3 to 8 players act as members of Egyptian high society betting on a chaotic camel race. Unlike typical racing games, players do not “own” or control a specific camel; instead, they try to predict which of five camels will finish a “leg” or the entire race in first or second place.

The Pyramid Dice Shaker: A central 3D pyramid contains five coloured dice (one for each camel). On a player’s turn, they can trigger the pyramid to release one die, which determines which camel moves and by how many spaces (1–3).
Stacking Movement: If a camel ends its move on a space occupied by another camel, it stacks on top of it. When a camel on the bottom of a stack moves, it carries all camels above it along for the ride, dramatically shifting race positions.
Strategic Betting: Players earn “Egyptian Pounds” by taking betting tiles for a specific camel to win the current leg. The earlier you place a bet, the higher the potential payout. You can also place secret long-term bets on the overall winner or loser of the entire race.
Influence the Race: Players can place spectator tiles on the track to either cheer (+1 space) or boo (-1 space) camels that land on them, earning a small amount of money in the process.

The updated 2018 edition (often called 2.0) introduces several new features:
Crazy Rogue Camels: Two additional camels (black and white) start at the finish line and run in the opposite direction, potentially picking up racing camels and carrying them backwards.
Improved Components: Features a pop-up 3D palm tree, revised artwork, and a more durable plastic pyramid.
New Actions: Includes a “betting partnership” option for higher player counts (6–8 players).
