Escape The Dark Sector

Escape the Dark Sector is a cooperative sci-fi adventure game for 1 to 4 players where the crew of a confiscated spaceship must fight their way out of a vast space station to reclaim their ship. It is the second entry in the Escape the Dark series by Themeborne Ltd.

The Mission: Players start as prisoners in a detention block and must navigate through 12 randomly selected Chapter Cards divided into three acts, culminating in a final Boss battle.
Winning & Losing: All crew members must survive to win; if even one player is killed, the game ends immediately in failure.
Atmosphere: The game features a distinct “retro” aesthetic with high-contrast, black-and-white illustrations that evoke classic “Choose Your Own Adventure” books.
Playtime: Each session typically lasts 45 minutes and takes roughly two minutes to set up.

Crew Selection: Players choose from 6 different crew members, each with a unique Crew Die representing their proficiencies in three traits: Might, Cunning, and Wisdom.
Cybernetic Implants: Each character starts with a special cybernetic implant card that grants a unique tactical ability.
Combat:
Ranged Combat: A new feature for this entry, players can use futuristic weaponry to attack from cover using specific Ammo Dice.
Close Combat: If the crew moves into melee range, they use their personal crew dice to match symbols on the enemy’s chapter dice.
Tactical Actions: Players can choose to Flank for extra damage, Reload weapons, Trade items, or use a Support Drone to heal.
Health Tracking: Damage is tracked on provided “Medical Record” pads using pencils.
