Exploding Kittens: Good vs Evil is a standalone, strategic card game for 2–5 players that evolves the classic “Russian Roulette” mechanics of the original Exploding Kittens with characters and themes from the Netflix animated series.
The Core Loop: Players take turns drawing cards from a deck. If someone draws an Exploding Kitten, they are eliminated unless they have a Defuse card (like a laser pointer or catnip sandwich).
New “Armageddon” Mini-Game: Playing an Armageddon Card triggers a high-stakes showdown. The player who played the card secretly places the Godcat and Devilcat face-down—one in front of themselves and one in front of an opponent.
Godcat vs. Devilcat:
Godcat: The most powerful card in the game, acting as any card the player needs it to be.
Devilcat: Immediately causes the player who reveals it to explode, requiring a Defuse card to stay in the game.
Strategic Interaction: The game emphasizes bluffing and psychological warfare as players try to trick others into picking the Devilcat during Armageddon events.
While the fundamental goal remains “don’t explode,” this version is described as more high-stakes due to the binary choice of the Armageddon mechanic. It replaces the general “cooperative” feel of some previous versions with more aggressive sabotage and betrayal tactics.
