Description
Bezzerwizzer is a fast-paced trivia board game that blends general knowledge with strategy and tactics. Originally from Denmark, its name is a play on the German word “Besserwisser,” meaning “know-it-all”.
Goal: Be the first player or team to move your piece around the board and reach the finish line.
Players: Designed for 2 to 4 players or teams, but can accommodate up to 12 people.
Duration: A typical game lasts between 30 and 60 minutes.
Question Variety: Features thousands of questions across 20 different categories, such as History, Sports, Music, and Geography.
Unlike standard trivia games, Bezzerwizzer allows players to manipulate categories and “steal” points:
Category Selection: In each round, players draw category tiles from a bag and place them on their player board in their preferred order.
Point Scaling: Categories are assigned point values from 1 to 4; players typically place their strongest subjects in the higher-scoring slots.
Tactical Tiles: Every team starts with special tiles to disrupt opponents:
“B” (Bezzerwizzer) Tiles: Use these to “steal” a question if you think your opponent doesn’t know the answer. Correct steals earn extra points.
“Z” (ZWAP) Tiles: Use these during your turn to swap one of your categories with an opponent’s.
