Description
Throw Throw Burrito is described as the world’s first “dodgeball card game”. Developed by the creators of Exploding Kittens, it combines fast-paced card matching with the physical action of throwing and dodging squishy foam burritos.
Core Gameplay
The game is played in two rounds by 2–6 players and typically lasts about 15 minutes.
Simultaneous Action: There are no turns; everyone draws and discards cards at the same time to race for matches.
Matching Sets: Players aim to collect sets of three identical cards to earn points. Standard sets are worth 1 point, while special “Battle” sets are worth 2 points.
The Dodgeball Element: When someone completes a set of Battle cards, they trigger a physical confrontation.
Burrito Battles
There are three main types of battles triggered by specific card sets:
Brawl: The players to the left and right of the person who played the cards must grab a burrito and try to hit each other.
War: Every player at the table (except the one who played the cards) races to grab a burrito and hit anyone else.
Duel: The player who played the cards chooses any two players to stand back-to-back, walk three paces, and fire.
Scoring & Winning
Burrito Bruises: If you are hit by a burrito during a battle, you receive a “Burrito Bruise” token, which counts as -1 point at the end of the round.
Fear Me Badge: The winner of the first round receives the “Fear Me Badge.” If they win the second round as well, they win the game. If someone else wins the second round, a final duel determines the ultimate champion.
